bio.

phillm is an award winning bay area artist, photographer, & filmmaker. 

photography has the power to capture emotion, real or imaginary, within a single frame. phillm constantly tries to achieve this in his own work, encouraging the viewer to elicit an emotional response.

he hand processes his film and embraces the imperfections in each photograph, letting the light and chemistry mix in an organic and often surprising way.

after all, perfection is boring.

he approaches his paintings and other art in the same way. he lets the paint drip in often unpredictably ways and uses any surface or medium available to him at the time.

experimentation is his weapon of choice.
